    Markbook App

Hi Paul Thank you for the feedback. There are a few technical glitches you've found and @Matt is more aware of those than I am, so i'll make sure he's aware. The ones I an help with: All previous assignments for the class and subject, should pull through into these markbooks. If they aren't, there might be an issue to report to the helpdesk. Do you want me to create a ticket for you? We'll need a class to chase down the problem. I beleive it is Open : Due Date Closed: Closed date Both: Due Date (Matt - can you confirm this one?) Students can be "marked" twice. When you collect their work in, you can record they have handed it in. We have a lot of schools who wish to report on hand-in rates. When you do mark the work, you can record their marks. If you haven't marked the work as handed-in, the hand-in tag is added for you automatically. This is why the students are showing up as late. If you don't wish to record hand-ins, just before you mark, you could edit the assignment to set a future date, mark the work then close the assignment. This will record that the students handed their work in on time. Hope that helps clear things up, happy to have a chat if you have more questions, Graham
  2. Hi @pdurber, If you like we can schedule a phone call and talk through the options. ePortfolios are really easy, but they do appear daunting.
  3. Added to the main apps galley https://www.frogeducation.com/digitalassets/icon-library And here they are too:
  4. Ignore those. It was mooted as an option - but there's no backend functionality. The fact they appear here is a bug. @Matt
  5. Sorry Paul - this is a bit beyond me. I'll nudge @adamw
  6. Using the tools provided in FrogLearn, you can build and customise the platform quite a bit. HTML Widget The HTML widget requires activation by Frog's Service Desk. You can request the widget from logging in here. If you are not a registered user with our service desk, you will need your school's Frog admin to contact the service desk for you. FrogCode Editor FrogCode Editor allows you to build Frog applications and widgets directly inside FrogLearn. You can find out more here. Unlike the HTML widget, the FrogCode Editor rquires a per user activation. Please contact the Service Desk to arrange activation. Frog APIs Inside FrogLearn, there are two apps you can activate via Package Manager: FDP API Reference FrogCode APIs These provide up-to-date code references to our FDP APIs, Widget preferences etc... FrogCode Editor and the HTML widget support: HTML JavaScript and jQuery CSS FrogLearn is pre-loaded with: Boostrap CSS (v2.3) Moment.js jQuery UI
  7. Hi everyone, in preparation for everyone getting Markbook, i've prepared a whole set of guides around setting homework on Frog: https://www.frogeducation.com/community/training/homework/ There are loads of short videos with PDF transcripts for each one - and a word document version should you wish to make your own versions of these videos. Graham
  8. To be honest, it was @adamw who put the bulk of the work in, but I'm using it as a roadmap to try an understand the datastore - there seems like there's a lot of potential there.
  9. Here's a new FrogCode widget: https://www.frogeducation.com/community/frogcode/frogcode-showcase/visitor-log We worked with George Bligh from Greenshaw on this widget. When someone views a page with this widget on, it records their visit. Anyone with Edit and Manage rights gets a button which displays a list of all visitors, their profile, their children (if a parent), how many times they have visited the site and the time and date of their last visit. (This widget uses the datastore - a little known about feature of Frog's API.) Updates This latest version 2.2 includes a "copy to clipboard" button, which allows you to copy the whole table and paste it into a spreadsheet program like Excel. The second new feature includes the ability to alter the Datastore's reference. So if you wish to reset the log, instead of deleting the widget and adding it again, you can now change the reference and the information will remain stored.
  10. I've just been speaking to a school about using FrogLearn as a complete Library system - which might help them replace their current provider and save around £3000 a year. This seems right up The Academy's street - so I'm reaching out to anyone interested in helping me build one. As far as I can tell, a library system would need: Ability to quickly note a student and the book they are borrowing A list of borrowed books (i.e. stock control) A list of overdue books The ability to reserve books The hardest element seems #1 - but is there anything else a library system would need?
  11. As far as i know, this retains all existing seating plans. I went to install it and looks like you have the latest version already
  12. I'm looking into this for one of our PRUs. They very much need Rules for individuals, and I think for them, the easiest way will be to create a group for each student. Just before I get started, has anyone tried this using code?
  13. Hi Just thought I'd jump on and explain a bit to possibly help ease any fears. All the features of assignment manager are duplicated in Markbook If you never create a markbook, the view will always default to the Assignment List view - which is really similar to Assignment Manager The only differences are improved features like the Hand-in all button and improved visibility for features like Preview Assignment. It's really not a big leap - it just looks nicer. We do not plan to develop Assignment Manager further - all future developments will be to Markbook - we're hoping to hide the application in the summer holidays (note: hoping - this will be influenced by your feedback) If you're having to "sell" the changes to your teachers, i'd really push point 3. It's just nicer and easier to see what's going on.
  14. You find out more details here - it would be great to see you all for a proper chat with a 1:1. https://www.frogeducation.com/community/events/calendar/bett2019
  15. Hi George, I've spoken to @adamw and @tom about this and there's no quick way - however Tom told me he has done this for schools. So the "easy" way is to contact the Service Desk and ask them to help you. In most cases they'll want to pass you the Parent/Child export, but if you explain that you need groups in Frog, Tom tells me they'll assemble the CSV for you. Graham
  16. Wow - thanks Adam Here's a direct link to the file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-KJq-5c0bRSF6Iu4MozcD4w0_C8VzJMP/view?usp=sharing As @adamw says - this is untested, so we'd also appreciate feedback on whether it's working or not.
  17. Wow - that's interesting - 38 Christmas day users.
  18. It's taken some wrangling and some discussion, but here's a link to Paul's widget: https://www.frogeducation.com/community/frogcode/frogcode-showcase/examtimetables Thank you for your generosity as ever @pconkie
  19. Instagram doesn't help you to embed feeds - their code only supports individual posts, but it looks like SnapWidget - https://snapwidget.com/ allows you to create code which embeds Instagram into an HTML widget. You must be logged into the Instagram account you wish to get a feed for Visit https://snapwidget.com/ and create a free account there Choose Create Free Widget Follow all the customisation steps, then copy the code supplied Paste this into an HTML widget on your Frog. As usual with these sort of things, this method will work as long as SnapWidget and Instagram allow it - they can change their code
  20. Wow! As always Paul - that's amazing. I'll have a chat with @adamw and find out the best way to get this. My one note of caution is that this puts all the information for different users into a single widget on Frog. It is possible if you know what you're doing to be able to view all the information stored in the widget. Now it looks fairly anonymous to me, but I might put the widget behind a form that makes you agree to take responsibility for it knowing this, before you get a link. Does that sound fair?
  21. Are you aware of the new IT Helpdesk - which we've built as part of the Frog Academy? I can get it installed if you like
  22. @adamw or @Simon Law - do you have a code example for knowing when a form is submitted? Everything else is straight-forward after that (I think).
  23. Why is UPN useless? It's stored in both Frog and all(?) MIS systems* Are you saying that with the UUID you could generate CSV to help you create groups? *I'm aware of the tautology, but it reads eaiser than MIS'
  24. The current BETA doesn't have all the feature of Parks unfortunately. Not long now though
