  1. Technically - FrogCode will be available from Dickens - but with so much to cover, I suggested we soft launch FrogCode and go for a proper build up and launch event.
  2. The reason we have a beta test program with our schools is to ensure there are no issues with the release. A few snags were discovered, which has pushed back roll out. I know everyone is desperate for Dickens, but it's better for it to be right rather than right now. FYI, the latest build is hitting the beta schools this week, should that testing go well, we're not looking at much longer.
  3. Added - thank you. For the record, it's in Halifax, at our offices on 19th April.
  4. Unfortunately, this is a FrogCode widget, so you have to wait for FrogCode to be rolled out. You won't need to be 'code-y' to use FrogCode, you'll be able to use Package Manager to install widgets others have built. We're having a launch event for FrogCode here in Halifax for 'code-y' people in the Easter holidays (19th April) - https://www.frogeducation.com/events/frog-code-competition
  5. FrogCode will be arriving in Spring/Summer 2017 allowing you to build your own applications and widgets in Frog. To celebrate we are hosting our first FrogCode workshop and providing schools who register with exclusive access to get FrogCode before anyone else. Get your thinking caps on and come ready with an idea for an application or widget to build on the day. Prizes will be awarded for best applications and widgets created on the day. All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance. Agenda - Frog Towers, Halifax - 19th April 11:00 - Welcome and introductions 11:30 - Code your own widgets (a working lunch will be provided) 15:30 - Show and tell - present your applications and widgets 16:15 - Winners announced 16:30 - Close Register to attend - https://r1.dotmailer-surveys.com/da21tqa0-4a28jmf9 Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. Some basic coding experience is necessary - enthusiasim is mandatory. You will need to bring your own laptop or device for the event (if you are unable to bring a device please let us know). https://r1.dotmailer-surveys.com/da21tqa0-4a28jmf9
  6. And in case you haven't seen it yet, here is the new homelearning theme which is in Dickens and includes more information about the assignment:
  7. We've been able to audit the most popular themes and the design guys are working the way through the list from top to bottom. Rather than just sticking some mobile code on an existing theme, they're taking the opportunity to revist some designs and bring them up to date in terms of look as well as functionality. These are just a few examples, but over the next few weeks and months they will get through all they can. Themes do require testing like any other new feature, so it is doubtful any will appear in Dickens, as that testing is already underway, but every time we get an opportunity, we'll deploy the updated themes.
  8. Just for conversation/curiosity, what format do your usernames take which means your teachers cannot identify the author based on username?
  9. I remember teachers complaining about the folders at my old school. it was extra clicks
  10. Hi @clangstaff, I've had no update on this i'm afraid. The Product Team aren't around today, but I'll chase them.
  11. What I'm discovering about FrogCode is that it is easy to do some things like adapting a link, but it's harder to add polish such as responsive changes, rich text and dealing with page layouts that Frog widgets usually have. So it's going to be easy to hack stuff together to get a job done, but depending on what is wanted it might not feel as "clean" as a traditional widget. The only one affected by that is me* really. As a Frog employee any widgets I build will have to be checked and approved. I suppose I could set up a phantom school and create widgets under a pseudonym? Or maybe we have a great big "Frog Amateur" sticker on any widgets Frog employees who aren't full time developers share. *Actually @Alistair Gill, @Jenny Vosper and head of sales Anthony Doyle have all built widgets too. Edd keeps finding excuses not to.
  12. Hi @kjc Yes, absolutely, each user has control over this in the My Preferences area. You can see more about this in the Learning FrogLearn tutorial here Graham
  13. For you consideration: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5bTXEl9mgAhby1OQnJpZ01PMHM
  14. Hi @Chay The Dickens release of FrogLearn includes an Image Carousel widget: https://www.frogcommunity.com/image-carousel But if you don't want to wait for that, then there is a tutorial on the Community: https://www.frogcommunity.com/filedrop which itself is based on the Bootstrap CSS carousel: https://www.w3schools.com/bootstrap/bootstrap_carousel.asp Hope that helps and welcome to the forums Graham
  15. Looks like that particular tracker can't be embedded. This one embedded with the Embed Website widget: https://www.flightradar24.com
  16. Hi Matt, I've just brainstormed this with @Alistair Gill, this is what we came up with: Assign a Google doc with "Each gets their own copy" to half of the class Make the first instruction in the assignment "Share this document with your partner" Frog will duplicate the document, leaving you as the owner, but sharing it to the original 50 students. Those students have sharing permissions with the document so can add others. Using Revision History, you'll be able to see who has done what on the document. Graham
  17. hehe. I totally forgot about your managed service blocking remote sessions. Glad you fixed it - what was the solution?
  18. HI @ADT When are you free for a remote screenshare. I think this problem might be easier to solve this way. Graham
  19. Hi @deanmoulder I've contact Ryan who works in your area and asked him to get in touch about a tour round the product. Graham
  20. I know this is an old post, but Chris has been building this himself in FrogCode beta. How's it gone Chris?
  21. ePub has it's own app which is coming in Dickens, so it's not part of the PDF viewer, but will read to you as part of it's features. The PDF viewer doesn't need a shared folder, but this would be possible. And @Jenny Vosper built her first widget today - a new phrase of the day widget which loads phrases from a text file and cycles through them from a user specified start date. We're going to be running a workshop on FrogCode in April and repeating it at the conferences, I'm really looking forward to it as everyone who has tried it out has built something useful and innovative.
  22. Hi @deanmoulder I've been told that from Dickens, Curriculum designer will be included on everyone's FrogLearn. The National Curriculum should be pre-loaded as an option when setting up your curriculum. Would it be worth me arranging for someone to give to a virtual tour? Graham
  23. Inspired by a couple of other threads about optimising themes for mobile, which are the most popular themes on your platform? Which ones would you love to have updated to be responsive?
