  1. Frogweb was a handy additional feature with Frog3 which allowed you to run web sites with their own links.  Schools who didn't have an additional server found it useful.  Unfortunately there's not the equivalent in FrogLearn.  Would you like me to set up a remote session and we can look at options?

One of the things we found was creating your dashboard as a site and then nesting it into the dashboard page makes a very nice and easy to use dashboard.  It would also allow you to have different tabs.  If you create it you then can nest different sections of the page and if on the site.  You then can have different rules set for each group.

Sounds intriguing, but I can't quite picture what you're saying.  Any chance you could do a screen recording to talk us through it?

I've uploaded a new site to the FrogStore called School Closure Portal.  The site is designed to help in the event for snow days, industrial action etc...

It contains a noticeboard, forum, gallery and contacts page, but the most useful section are three KS3 level independent lesson plans.  The lessons shouldn't conflict with anything on the curriculum directly and are there should you be asked to set work for students.  Each lesson is built around the knowledge-based learning concept with TED ED videos, forums, quizzes and file drops to capture student learning.   I'm sure your kids won't thank you, but I'm hoping your teachers will.

  4. The background change bug is being worked on.  I know because i've seen several emails about it this week alone.

The forogt password link requests your email.  If you have an email registered it sends out a reset password link - if you are using Frog as your authentication.  If your account is AD, then you get a message explaining.

  5. Got you.   OK, so this is something we might be able to do soon using FrogCode, but in the meantime, you can try:

    • Create a link to a page using the text widget
    • Click off the text widget (you don't need to leave editing mode)
    • Right-click on the link and choose Inspect Element
    • Copy the code highlighted in the Developer console.
    • Use the HTML widget wrapped with the <A href wrapped around the code at the top.

You shouldn't get any refreshing or page reloading.

  6. Hi both,

Sorry you've had to wait for the official newsletter, yes, we're hoping / expecting the next release to more or less coincide with BETT, provided testing doesn't cause issues.

I've had a chance to play with the Custom Markschemes and they are pretty cool.   You can create any markscheme you wish (including A*-U), be able to publish them and unpublish them (so if your SLT decide they want all marking done with a set scale, you can).

You will be able to embed a calendar in a dashboard/site (not a students one though :()  Although you can use the embed website widget to embed the calendar currently, use this address:   yourschoolurl/app/calendar/?view_type=-1

Managing calendars from a page is a Create Event widget, which allows users to add events through a prebuilt form.

  7. Loving this discussion and how you're all using it.

@Chris.Smith - i know i could walk down the room, but seems to make more sense to ask on here.   For teachers, can the code open Assignment Manager (ideally to the assignment), rather than the student view of the assignment?

  8. Hi @mmclaughlin

I don't know the term, but a quick search suggests it is about digital badges.   It's something I know is close to Steve Holt's heart.  We wanted to see what was possible for the Learning FrogLearn course, but struck out for anything automated.

My old school was keen to push this stuff too.
