@ADT Hi, Me again, did you get a Organisation validated (OV): Medium assurance certificate? for £35 for 1 year, up to 40 domains? Would this be suitable for our frog parent portal? And could it be used for others schools in the trust with their own domain names?
And did you have to fill in their Word application form and agree to all their T&C's etc?
Sorry for all the questions, I wish I knew a bit more about these!

@ADT I've just seen this post - wow, that's great, I also like the sound of this JANET lass! I am due to renew soon, so will look at this now.
I don't know much about these ssl certificate, all I know is we needed one in order to protect the data of the reports being pulled from SIMS to our parent portal. I was thinking of just renewing as its the easy option (don't have to change anything), but not if I can get one loads cheaper. For the parent portal - does it matter what type of certificate we get or where from? And then I guess, if I get a new one I just copy the code of the certificate and send it to frog?
Also as we are part of a Trust now, is this certificate something we can get and share? Or, now I'm thinking about it, they just work with which ever domain name you buy it for? So you could buy for all domain names in the trust? Not sure if it would save much money etc....just wondered, might be easier to just buy our own?

Hello, one of our teachers has all his resources on his site on Frog Learn, it is a big site with lots (hundreds) of pages containing every topic and every individual lesson etc. The teacher is now leaving but would like his resources before he goes. Does anyone know if I can download the site (as a website download), so he could open it up on his own machine. Or is there another way he can easily get all his resources off before he leaves? Thank you

Okay, thanks, I still don't really understand if it makes a copy of it, why you then can't fully edit that copy, oh well, thanks for the comments.

Thank you for your comments, it makes sense what you have said, but at the same time it makes no sense! :-) So if you want to 'edit' a document or 'reissue' they are basically the same thing? It seems you can change the same fields in both, no more options in one or the other....why is there an 'edit' and 'reissue' option? what's the difference/purpose? Thanks

Hello, I would like to check something. I know if you’ edit’ an assignment you can only change a few things, like the introduction, due date and who its assigned to. What I would like to check is that if you ‘reissue’ an assignment, should you be able to add/remove resources and activities?
I really thought you could do this when ‘reissuing’ an assignment but its not letting me, if it doesn’t let you add/remove resources or activities, then what is the difference between ‘edit’ assignment and ‘reissue’?I have uploaded a screenshot with the message I get when reissuing an assignment and trying to add another resource etc. the message is: ‘The resources will be added to the assignment from the site.’ I don’t understand this message, nothing was created using a site, just homework set within assignment manager and I’m sure I never used to get this message, I'm sure I used to be able to add/remove activities and resources here........maybe I didn't though, this is what I need to clarify before I go crazy.....

Hello, I will need to renew our SSL certificate soon, I could just do this with DigiCert as this is where Frog recommended to get the certificate from. However looking around I can see that I can get a SSL certificate a lot cheaper from other providers. I don’t know much about these SSL certificates and was wondering what providers others have used? I think we only need a standard single name certificate any advice/ recommendations gratefully received, thank you.

Thank you for the useful information, your Wordpress site looks good. I have used Wordpress a little bit but only with the standard themes - whats the difference with a flexible theme? Is it easier to customise? Many Thanks

I was wondering if many people had built their school website in Frog Learn and if so wouldn’t mind posting their URL here? I am interested to see what can be achieved.
We have Frog3 and Learn, currently our school website is built in Frog3, which I find very easy to create almost any layout/design. However we are trying to move away from frog3 and I have been looking at creating our website in Learn. I understand you can use an existing template or download the theme pack and adjust to build your own theme. I downloaded the theme pack and have been trying to recreate our website, but I am finding it very difficult to get the desired layout, as my knowledge of css and html are limited.
Anyway, it would be good to see what others have managed to create, thank you.

I was having a look through the ideas portal as the teachers here would really like to be able to mark the column ‘complete’ in assignments them selves as students don’t do this and it causes a lot of confusion. The teachers would like to be able to keep a record here them selves if the work is complete or not.
I found someone else had already raised this idea, so I voted for it, then had a look through some other ideas. Whilst looking I came across 2 other ideas which are asking for the same thing. Now as they are all logged individually the votes are spread across them, so it appears it might have less chance of being looked at.
If the same ideas has been asked for several times and logged as separate tickets – wouldn’t it be better to have them as just one idea? Then all the votes can be added up as one? Or maybe you already have them all logged as one somewhere else, in which case just ignore me!These are the items I came across:
FRG-I-1062 - Staff marking Assignments as complete (6 votes)
FRG-I-123 -Teachers to be able to complete/submit assignments on behalf of students (20 votes)
FRG-I-5 - Allow Teachers to complete an assignment (9 votes)
I also saw a few other ideas relating to the completed button.

Hello, was hoping for some advice. Every now and then the students will be asked to reset their passwords on the school computers/network or their password might expire and need to be reset. Sometimes their password expires at the weekend or in the school holidays and this effects them logging onto the VLE as they can’t log in because their password has expired. Its not until they come back into school to reset their password that they can then log back into the VLE. This causes us problems, specially now as we want students to log on at home to check their homework. Does anyone else experience this or have any advice? Thank you

Hello, we have started using assignments this term and I am getting feedback that the teachers would like to be able to mark for themselves if the homework was completed or not in the completed column – is this possible?
At the moment I have told everyone to ignore the completed column as it relies on the student remembering to press ‘completed’ which we’re not expecting them to at the moment. However this has caused some confusion as not everyone realises this so when there is a long list of ‘not completed’ parents, teachers are concerned.
I just wanted to know what other schools do about the ‘submitted’ column in assignments? Any advice?

Hi Graham, yes Tracy is keeping me informed that there is no response yet from Vivo. I was wondering though if it was something this end? (as I don't think that has been investigated) When I originally set it up I had to contact vivo to get the vivo Api key and vivo shared secret in order to integrate vivo within the frog platform, so I wasn't sure if there were any settings somewhere I could check? I haven't been in touch with vivo myself - do you think I should try and contact them? Is there anything I can do/check? Thanks

Hi, Does any one use the Vivo app for single sign on? If so, please can you test it and let me know if yours works. We have the Vivo app and it used to work well for single sign on, unfortunately
it hasn't worked for a while now, I have a ticket logged but just wondered if it was just me it has stopped for, which might help narrow down the issue (or you may have any suggestions I can try to get it working again). Thank you

@ADT Ha ha, don't think JANET would like that reputation, but she is, we may deal with her too! I wish we had a managed service to sort this out, who are these 'managed service' people? I worry about these things (I don't know much about) and the process all looks a bit daunting for me, I'm sure its fine if you're used to doing these things, ah well, whats the worst that can happen......thanks again
