@smackie2 ah, think I've figured out what it is.  something to do with the iframe loading the ideas portal on each page.  the first back click makes that iframe go back and the second makes the whole window go back.

still quite annoying.  also, i'd like the ideas portal better if the items listed there were clickable to open the idea in the ideas portal @Graham Quince

I think that I like the look/feel of this forum.  will take a while to grow on me.  kind of annoying that I need to press the back button twice to to back, but maybe that's just me.
