  1. I would say about half of our departments use it, some more regularly than others. Some staff really value the voice feedback option, others just really like having that mark book off paper, some like that they can set in advance and forget about it for a few weeks it automatically pops up to students on the right day.

To share with the powers that be I made a group and applied a policy to it allowing use of the assignment monitor widget for those specific users. This could be head of each dept, SLT or whoever needs access.

I guess for some that would then take some training to show them how to best use it but it enables them to see who is setting what/how they are marking it.

  2. Hi,

Can this be done at all? Background of the situation is Y7 and some staff went on residential - A site was made with a timeline to add photos to share with the Y7 parents, however the staff who had smart phones had iOS 10 so Frogsnap wouldn't work!

Over 200 photos have been taken, I would say about half would be great to share with parents. What is the quickest way to do this? Currently the photos are saved on a staff shared drive in school. I would like to be able to add them to a timeline, or even photo stream so they display right in the page - I can't see a bulk way of doing this - is there a way around this at all?

  3. @clangstaff We have used it to add content to sites, to then share with parents. Examples from the past week include Y7 residential timeline on a site shared with Y7 parents, and extra curricular day timeline on a site shared with all parents.

Today its in use during an INSET session where staff have been challenged to photograph the best displays in the school and then reflect on why they are good/bad and are they for pupil or staff benefit.

I don't see it used much in normal lessons anymore. The best uses I have seen here are ICTs wall of fame where teachers snap the best work from that week and upload it to show on the subject site, and Drama who have used it in the past to peer assess performances in lessons.

  4. His words were 'a sleeker sexier interface' He hasn't really explain what that is though in his mind. I will see if he can draw something up, but I think essentially something maybe more color choices, and layout of the calendar I think he liked on there  - the app is pretty plain although has all the functions, the option to filter homework's in the ways smhw does, and choose how many to display/which subject etc. And I think he wants a lot of it done on the page itself not through the assignment app as a pop up.

I do like the idea of a planner portfolio, would this link to parent accounts? When would this be a possibility, to create a site per student?

I have shown assignment monitor yes, but to the same response, it would be better with improved looks/easy to operate I think. I think the idea of it looking like a dashboard, with everything embedded and easy to get to would be the ideal

  5. I am looking into a solution for homework's/planners in Frog. This was mentioned on the other forum, but that has now disappeared. Does anyone use Frog to manage homework's and students school life?

Head of ICT likes the look of show my homework, is there a way of achieving the look and feel of this kind of platform but within Frog? We would want it to be functional but also look really good, easy for staff to use and get on board with and for students to want to use - it would be amazing it parent accounts could be linked up too!

Does anyone have any success stories of using Frog this way? I have the assignment button and also a list of the 5 assignments due in next but head of ICT wants more, and wants it to look much better. Also wants a better staff view if possible too.

If not we may be going over to show my homework.

Also, we are currently a Frog 3 and Frog Learn school.

  6. This doesn't use the shared folder but you can use a link to file and html widget to display a pdf. Add pdf to widget, uncheck force download - this will then open the file in a browser tab. Copy the address and put this into the following code, in a HTML widget:

    <embed src="https://....WebAddressHere...." width="580" height="530" type='application/pdf'>

You can then hide the link to file widget so the user only sees the file embedded.

  7. I love this idea - I have created a similar site with a link on our Frog Staff dashboard but it was just to cover the Frog basics to get staff started when we re-introduced Frog, I will definitely be updating to include 365 and one drive - we get so many staff still coming in with pen drives or using shared drives/email to get work back from pupils

  8. Does anyone have any experience of this library management software? A member of staff in our school has brought into this software and thought it could be integrated with Frog, using the same log in for pupils and staff as Frog. However they did not look into it the type of Frog it can be used with, there is a user guide which uses a Frog 3 widget, but we use Frog learn thoughtout school so we are looking for a way to make it work which wouldn't issues students with another username/password to remember.

Has anyone used this with Frog learn successfully? (Or even google or 365 log ins if possible?)

  9. No this isn't until November (very organised dept.). Thanks for those ideas I will pass them on, I like the colour coded routes, I don't know much about that maths dept. here but I will definitely suggest this to them.

They have used photos before but I think this was mainly to get workings off the board so students could have access at home, doing this the other way round is a great idea too.

  10. I have been asked to run a mini inset for our maths department, and their first question when asking if I could do it was "How does Frog help maths?" I was going to ask you this, but I thought it would be good to find out how people use it differently in each subject, what makes it special for that subject - for example our DT department began using Frog as a way to showcase practical work from previous years to give inspiration to younger students beginning the same project. Art use it to peer assess work with Frog snap, ICT use it for almost everything, drama showcase practical performance videos and peer assess.

Are there any other ways in which it can be used in subjects to enhance that subject specifically? I struggled to think of a great deal with maths that couldn't be used in other subjects.
