  1. @annBasically we have created a site. Then we go to padlet.com and create a padlet and share it public. This will allow us to pull the URL. I then put the Embed website in it with padlet's URL and the functionality of the padlet goes with it. I have set the padlet to allow me moderator rights so I have to accept all announcements and delete the old ones It takes me 5 minutes each day. Matt
  2. Teachers have many different browsers as do students. I love Opera but normally use Chrome. It has become important with the different file types that will work with different browsers. Matt
  3. No worries @ADT We didn't have Frog3 and did not depend on those resources. Matt
  4. It would be great in the US. We are constantly looking at data and if we could merge this with our data tracking software, the teachers could import SLO data in and show the level that the students are moving to.
  5. With the viewing pdf widget will we also get the ability to view epub and other types of ereader files?
  6. Happy New Year... but what about all that Frog Learn can that Frog 3 did not? Matt
  7. Instead of the embedded notice boards, we use a padlet and embed it into the page.
  8. If I understand what you are asking @ghughes you want to have the ability to have a specific page to different groups. I do not have access to the dashboard to make changes to @Graham Quince What I was thinking was to create a site for each of the groups. Then you embed the nested page widget on the dashboard. So now there are multiple pages and you set the rules on the nested page widget which should set up the permissions that you want. That way you don't need different tabs. Will create a video walking through it. Matt
  9. One of the things we found was creating your dashboard as a site and then nesting it into the dashboard page makes a very nice and easy to use dashboard. It would also allow you to have different tabs. If you create it you then can nest different sections of the page and if on the site. You then can have different rules set for each group. Matt
  10. In the research I have been doing on this, fully automated badging/microcredentialing is cool, but not as effective as evidence based. Something that would be neat would be a more integrated method, where schools could gain a method for this using a tracking program where the IDT or the Principal or "someone" in charge of technology training could review evidence for their teachers and possibly track them. I have been doing some thinking where you may be able to incorporate Mozilla Open backpack or use it as a base for reporting and create it using some tracking software... @Graham Quince. A school could import the badges they wanted through a matrix and create their own specific badges.
  11. Hey, How much do you all see micro-credentialing on your side of the pond? It seems like something is starting to go on around here with using it for teacher and student interactions. Matt McLaughlin
  12. Thank you. I am working on a training for Google Docs and its use in planning and teaching when integrated with FrogLearn. I have to create it in Captivate, and would love to have it work within Frog so I can send it out to staff. You have given me hope. Matt
  13. Tin Can API is a more involved form of Scorm. It is beginning to replace Scorm in the US. How about HTML5. Can I dump html5 items into the html widget? Not to be difficult, but I have to use these for my grad program and wanted to know if I would have to host trainings on another site or through frog. Matt
  14. Does Frog Learn accept either Scorm or Tin can packages? Matt
  15. A couple months ago we had a major issue with Frog Feedback and it overrunning our servers. I haven't heard about it in a while and we don't seem to have feedback up and running again. Has there been a patch on this? Many of our teachers are upset as am I because of the amount I use this function. We have a widespread support for the online grading and the support is dwindling the longer it is not available. Matt
  16. One way we worked this through was creating the dashboards a sites and then setting the rules on the sites using the nested widget. It also prevents a global error running through everything if someone or something happens to the dashboard. Matt
  17. THaines In alot of ways, I would think having him create a blog would be the best method. He could use the blog and you should be able to connect using the RSS widget. This would allow teachers and parents to follow his blog. Further other schools could as well. I tend to like multiple solutions to the problem. Another option could be to run a forum where people could see it but not respond or allow them to respond and make it a conversation. he could write the post and people would then be able to click in to find out more about a topic. I like the text widget idea as well @Graham Quince. Personally though I would want to RSS feed something like or to be able to send a notification when the person writes which would allow people to be notified on changes. Matt
  18. So I have been trying to use Frog in a different way. I have been attempting to move beyond using multiple choice tests and structuring everything as a test (we still have alot of standardized tests over here.) I have been humbled and amazed with my students. I recently did a project where they create webpages. They each created a Frog page with information and research that they have done. Its ease of use and ease to teach made it possible. So congrats to Frog. Matt
  19. Hey all, We have been having problems with Frog Feedback with assigning sites. It was turned off to be fixed. Did anyone else have this problem? Matt
  20. @ADT @Graham Quince We have only had FrogLearn. I am very happy with that platform. I have used other platforms and think FrogLearn is easy to use and a better fit for schools. I would love to know how Frog 3 differs and is the same as FrogLearn. I have seen it mentioned by some people here repeatedly and it seems that people think it is better or worse. I wanted to specifically how the two compare. This is for curiosity sake. Matt
  21. My school started with FrogLearn, which I find to be really powerful. I keep hearing references to Frog 3 and wanted to know what are the major differences between the two. If I read this forum, I would think that Frog 3 had much more accessibility and use than FrogLearn. So can you enlighten this neophyte?
  22. We use it greatly. I love all of the options that it gives teachers from inputing in rubrics to online commenting. This has been used in my building by many teachers and it is an AMAZING inclusion.
  23. We went with a padlet embedded on our page and then have the teachers enter in their announcements and I just approve them. Matt
  24. A good work around is also to use a link to file widget and set it for not forcing download. This will send you to a web addressed version of it. You then can embed the website in your page creating a viewable .pdf
