  1. We'd like to use the Data-to-Form widget for a potential "hybrid" Results Day.

The only snag is I'd like to hide subject headings if their is no data in the cells eg Alan Aardvark does English, Maths, Science, Computing but Andrew Aardvark does just English, Maths, Science but Andrew would see the Computing column as it's included in the spreadsheet. As you can imagine we'd end up with quite a few empty subject columns for the majority of students.

I've tried adding some CSS to the code but can't quite achieve what I want... can anyone suggest a way to do this?

Example attached with what I want removing.

Ps. do Frog Tags still exist?? 🤔

Right, so I've found the problem, It's a tiny thing and I'll try and get it into the next release - basically there's a container that displays the status message (live in x days, expired etc) - which takes up some space if the width of the noticeboard is below a certain size. You have the noticeboard in a smaller bucket, which is why you are seeing it, but other people don't.

I was about to post a screenshot that I think showed the problem you've mentioned. Thanks for looking at it and good to hear there will be a fix applied in the next release.

Hmmm, do you have any HTML widgets with custom CSS on the page or anything like that?

There were a few HTML widgets on the staff dashboard but no real CSS included in them (mostly java script). I tried removing all the HTML widgets from the staff dashboard, clearing my cache, cookies etc and tried reloading but that didn't change anything...

It could be due to the existing notices being copied and pasted from somewhere? Perhaps a word document or an email? It could have picked up some extra-characters which are causing the spacing issues.  If you create a new one from scratch and type the entry in, does it do the same?

I've just done a test post from scratch and initially the spacing at the top of the post isn't there but when you reload the page and go back to the post the large spacing appears again! Really odd. See the screenshot showing the post I just put on...

    • If you are not admin, but have contribute rights, you can add, edit and delete only notices posted by you.

That's the main one for us. At the moment staff could edit or delete other posts on our noticeboard.

Auto refresh or an icon to do it without having to refresh the whole platform please! :D

    Hi there,

Sorry about the delay in responding. Just to let you know that I've pushed this under the nose of our MIS developers here and they are aware of it. Currently we don't export that data from SIMS, but it is something to bear in mind for the future.

In the meantime, I'm wondering if there is another way we can get this information into your platform, perhaps by some cleaver use of FrogCode? @Graham Quince

Thanks for getting back to me... for a while I thought I wasn't making any sense!

It's good to hear the  MIS team are aware and hopefully it's something that can be implemented in the near future.

  7. Is it possible for FrogParent to display any detentions a student has been set alongside the individual behaviour and positive points it already shows?

There is murmurs at our school to get parents to use ClassCharts to view behaviour information as our new behaviour team and a member of SLT likes the idea of parents seeing which detentions their child(s) has been set. But of course I want parents to continue using our parent portal in Frog to view behaviour data so having detentions shown through there would be a big win!

There is a idea on the IdeasPortal which could use some more votes :) https://ideas.frogcommunity.com/ideas/FRG-I-356

  8. Hi Sam,

Not really I'm afraid! It's not a user group we are after.

We have the list of PP students but the member of staff wants an area/page/site/folder for each PP student and a place for staff to upload documents related to that particular student plus their photo. I can't see how this can be done without creating a site for each student manually or even just a folder... unless there is another way...

Is it possible to create a Pupil Premium area online. I would like an area in the Learning Centre please where staff can go to each Year Group and see a photo of every student along with a folder for attaching documents to? I will forward the definitive PP list asap....

I've had the following requests above from a member of staff. Can anyone think of a way of doing this through Frog or even outside of Frog?!

    Any advice welcome.

  10. Hi @Graham Quince,

That's not what I meant! I've created the sites using the department template. I just meant is there anywhere to download the nice background images that Edd has used in his videos to make them look 'easier on the eye'. I'm sure in the past I recall there was a repository on Frog's community site to download subject background images?

  11. Hi all

I'm just in the middle of refreshing and creating new department sites in FrogLearn and was wondering if there was somewhere to download nice background images and icons that would fit the new feature theme. I've had a quick nosy around the Frog Community section but can't see anything. The ones in @Edd's videos look smart (the history one especially) so I was wondering if there was a download available for me to use?

    Thanks,
    Chris

  12. Hi Chris,

Wow - this site looks familiar... :D. This has been built from the ground up in Frog 3 using 'Frog Bricks' and it was all drag and drop and didn't require any real coding to put it together. I found that using the Frog 3 tools it was quite flexible in terms of putting together a template that included the header with the contact details and the large image links (which do just link to another page on the website) - these larger images were just mocked up in Photoshop and 'sliced' to fit that particular space. I'm not sure how flexible the FrogLearn templates are to get the look and feel of our website. You can create your own templates but you'll need to know your HTML and CSS to get the desired look... I believe Frog can build a custom website for you in FrogLearn (awaits commision) but you'll have to speak to them directly.

If you want to know anything about Frog 3 page building ask away!

    Thanks,

    Chris

  13. This looks really useful - especially as we have a noticeboard for all staff and each year group.

If this has been mentioned elsewhere, apologies, but how do I add the widget to our platform?

  14. Hi Nick,

Students have access to Twitter in school. I actually tested it on my workstation which also has unrestricted internet access so I'm not sure it's a networking issue.

    Chris

  15. We've got our main school Twitter feed embedded onto our staff dashboard and both myself as an admin user and staff users can view it fine. When I've used the exact same snippet of code on our student dashboard and I log in with one of their accounts it just displays "Tweets by @kw_sch" which links directly to our Twitter page but it doesn't displays the tweets! When I access the student dashboard with a staff account it displays as expected.

    This is the code used:

    <a class="twitter-timeline" data-height="800" data-dnt="true" href="https://twitter.com/kw_sch" data-widget-id="382877609094168576">Tweets by @kw_sch</a>
    <script>if (typeof twttr != "undefined") twttr.widgets.load();</script>

You can see what I mean in the screenshots. Has anyone stumbled across this issues before? Just wondering if it has something to do with any groups or policies settings??
